    Description

    Bank Check on Manufacturers Bank of Cohoes, NY, drawn by Anchor Hosiery Mills dated Nov 21, 1882.  Nice  vignette of anchor with banner that says, "Hosiery Mills."  New England had water power so clothing mills started out there.  Then moved to New York City.  The to the South for cheaper labor.  Now almost all have gone overseas.  RN-G1 Revenue Imprint.   Endorsed four times on back.  2 3/4 by 8 inches.
